Point-in-Time Count

All Home’s role is to lead the Seattle/King County Continuum of Care in realizing its vision to make homeless rare and brief by:

  • Developing a common agenda and plan of action
  • Building the capacity of funders and providers to implement
  • Measuring results, monitoring performance, and holding funders/providers accountable
  • Communicating transparently and continuously

The Point-in-Time (PIT) count is a count of sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January. HUD requires that Continuums of Care conduct an annual count of people experiencing homelessness who are sheltered in emergency shelter, transitional housing, and Safe Havens on a single night. Continuums of Care also must conduct a count of unsheltered people experiencing homelessness every other year (odd numbered years). Each count is planned, coordinated, and carried out locally. In the effort to ensure an accurate count of the populations most likely and disproportionately experiencing homelessness, All Home contracted with AG for the following supports:

  • Build relationships with community based organizations (CBOs) which service populations likely to be unrepresented in the count;
  • County wide volunteer recruitment and coordination (e.g. managing and securing +20 convening stations);
  • Fund and supply development with various corporations’ for in kind donations (e.g. space, temporary mobile phones for count loaded on an app);
  • Report feedback loop among community partners regarding preliminary recommendations.
