Housing and Homelessness

Point-in-Time Count

All Home is dedicated to leading the Seattle/King County Continuum of Care (CoC) in achieving its vision of making homelessness rare and brief. All Home fulfills this role by:

  • Developing a unified agenda and action plan
  • Building the capacity of funders and service providers for effective implementation
  • Measuring outcomes, monitoring performance, and holding funders and providers accountable
  • Ensuring transparent and continuous communication

Point-in-Time (PIT) Count

The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is an annual census of sheltered and unsheltered individuals experiencing homelessness, conducted on a single night in January. This count, required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), helps provide an accurate snapshot of homelessness in the region. The CoC is required to count individuals in emergency shelters, transitional housing, and Safe Havens every year, while unsheltered individuals are counted every other year (odd-numbered years).

To ensure the PIT count accurately reflects the populations most likely to be underrepresented, All Home contracted with AG to provide the following essential supports:

  • Community-Based Organization (CBO) Engagement: Build strong relationships with CBOs serving populations disproportionately affected by homelessness to ensure comprehensive representation in the count.
  • Volunteer Recruitment & Coordination: Oversee countywide recruitment and coordination of volunteers, including managing and securing more than 20 convening stations.
  • In-Kind Donations & Fund Development: Secure funding and in-kind support from corporations, including donations of space and temporary mobile phones for the count, loaded with the necessary app.
  • Community Feedback Loop: Facilitate a feedback loop with community partners to review preliminary recommendations, ensuring continuous improvement and accuracy in future counts.

These efforts are aimed at ensuring a more accurate, comprehensive count of homelessness in the region, helping All Home and its partners make data-driven decisions to better serve those in need.
